The SouthWorks project has been thrilled to welcome three talented interns to the site over the last year.

Last summer, Brooke Snider (Ithaca College, Park School ’28) planned our project Open House surpassing the previous year’s attendance and completed a comprehensive redesign of the SouthWorks website to reflect current site activities.

In the fall, Finley Williams (Cornell University, College of Arts & Sciences ’26) was instrumental in the success of our Inaugural Mural Jam in collaboration with Ithaca Murals and designed a robust tracker to log our community engagement efforts.

This spring, Stephen Hirschel (Tompkins Cortland Community College, Computer Information Systems ’27) facilitated integrations between multiple software platforms to streamline external communications and supported an expansion of artist & community access to the site. You can read more about his internship experience in this interview featured on TC3’s website.

All three worked hard to grasp the multi-faceted world of real estate development and the complexities of our unique project within just a few months. Notably, they also represent all three higher education institutions in Tompkins County! We’ve been honored to work with them all and are so excited to see what they accomplish next.
