Ithaca's MURAL JAM is a free, two-day public art festival that transforms SouthWorks into a vibrant open-air gallery filled with creativity, color, and community connection. Local, regional, and national artists create murals in real time, while visitors explore the site, meet the creators, join in on the community paint wall, enjoy poetry and musical performances, and experience the energy of a thriving community.

Meet the Muralists:
Natalie Shugailo-@sub_urban_warrior
Based in Chicago, Natalie has 10 years of experience painting murals and is strongly influenced by the merging of city and suburban cultures. Blending high energy with soft subtlety, her murals create harmony between flora and fauna, highlighting the immense beauty of the natural world and the importance of our relationship to it.
Iris Williams- @irises_eyes
Based in Syracuse, NY, Iris celebrates identity, community, and storytelling through their vibrant murals. Iris strives to create meaningful experiences that inspire connection, creativity, and pride through public art.
Ismael, Elias & Fabio Arcani- @arcani_srz & @arcanielias
Born and raised in Bolivia and now based in New York City, brothers Ismael, Elias & Fabio create murals that show the lives of people, and the beauty of their day-to-day life. This will be the brothers’ first independent art piece in the U.S., and they hope MURAL JAM attendees can see themselves as the real muse of their art!
Ashe Martin- @forgedfromashestudios
Based in Cortland, NY, Ashe has over 20 years of experience creating mixed-media art as a muralist, mosaic artist, sculptor, and teaching artist. With every project, Ashe aspires to create artwork that feels connected to the people and place it’s made for, ultimately bringing pride to the community.
Margalo- @margalomurals
Born in Beijing and raised in Ithaca, Margalo is an emerging muralist whose work can be found locally at Modern Ohana Restaurant, SouthWorks, Belle Sherman Elementary School, and HH Cayuga. When not painting, Margalo's likely making origami, skiing, petting cats or snakes (not at the same time).
